via The Baby SucksThis blog cracks me up.  It’s full of heart and humor and fun illustrations.  Love the glimpses into what parenting is going to be like.  This particular entry mourns the retiring of the push-up bra post nursing.

This blog is full of beautiful photos and anecdotes of life as a mom, written with wit and charm.  I could lose a whole afternoon reading her archives.  Love this entry about her daughter’s wish for a Magic 8 Ball.

via Motherhood UncensoredOk, this one is rated X for eXtra TMI.  If you’re easily offended or grossed out, it is not for you.  I’m known to be the queen of TMI amongst my friends so this had me howling.  And equally terrified.  And yet, I’m one of those mothers-to-be who would much rather know than to not know.  Thank goodness for bloggers like Motherhood Uncensored who are willing to boldly share their tales from the other side.

Baby Blog Addict @BabyBlogAddict selected by @KylerEngland

via Baby Blog AddictSo it’s going to be a few years before my little-one-on-the-way will be ready to help out around the house, but I love the idea of having kids help cook meals.  What a fun and productive way to spend time together and it sends the message to your child that they are an important part of the family and that they have something to contribute.  Good for their self-esteem, self-reliance, and sense of responsibility to others around them.  Note to self…must get a dog to “vacuum” up what’s going to inevitably end up on the kitchen floor.

As a musician myself of course the first thing I looked for was a blog on music for babies.  I came across this awesome site with a mom blog (latest and greatest post about Mommy Brain which I already identify with even though I have 4 months to go before I’m officially a mommy) but more importantly they have lullaby versions of pop songs from Bon Jovi to Bjork to Bob Marley!  The Lullaby Renditions of Madonna are awesome.  Kinda eerie and fun to hear “Like a Virgin” and “Papa Don’t Preach” as lullabies.

Firsts: I love posts like this! It reminds me that every stage with your child is wonderful. What stages we’re going to like most is a big topic between Cody and I and I love being reminded that even after you pass the stages that you think are going to be your favorite, another one will happen and blow it out of the water. It just makes me excited for our future with our family.

Utilizing a Montessori Inspired Room for a Toddler: Even though I’m not a parent, my husband and I plan to have kids in the next few years. This post is some really great and real inspiration for a nursery for a toddler. With pinterest, obviously there is a ton of inspiration out there for nurseries and toddler rooms but many of them are just gorgeous and not functional. This room gives a new perspective and is gorgeous and functional all at the same time! I will definitely remember this when the time comes!

Parties-Just Go: Okay, maybe I’m just loving Callie’s friendship series she’s got going on but I really like this post. She talks about how you should always try to go to parties you were invited to because if you don’t and everyone else doesn’t, the person may have no one at their party and it will make them sad. Personally, I’m a notorious flaker, but maybe I won’t be now because I will definitely remember this post.

Change: This is a post about a broken engagement and embracing change in your life. Although I’ve never had a broken engagement, life has certainly thrown me some curveballs. I really like how Jade talks about how she did what was right for her, even though it shocked everyone else. I definitely need that reminder because sometimes, I tend to go with what everyone else wants me to do, rather than what I think is right.

Life Changes and Friends: This is a blog post I honestly think should be read by everyone. When you go through life changes, you sometimes lose friends and that hurts. I personally just got married and lost one of my closest friends. My best friend lost a lot of her friends when she had her daughter. I think it’s sad, but this blog post is very comforting and I’m so glad I found it.
